These Method Series Putters use ridge technology to help reduce spin on a golf ball. A pendulum was used to test varying putter head accelerations causes on a golf balls spin. Small changes in acceleration of the putter head greatly increased the amount of spin on the ball. Polymetal grooves were added to the putter to reduce the spin on the ball. The polymetal grooves added an average 15 degrees of top spin as compared to the non-grooved model that showed consistent backspin.
Player testing also shows that the Nike Method Core putter has a significantly shorter skid distance than similar industry non-grooved competitive putters.
